I’m glad to hear you all had a wonderful vacation!! Love the pic of you and your guy.

I read this on our trip to Europe and it sparked helpful conversation with my husband about how we want to handle re-entry. He wants to get his work lunches prepped and mow the lawn. I want to get laundry done and bags put away. Mostly, I want to cover my child in kisses!

I’m thanking my past self for leaving the house tidy, putting fresh sheets on the bed, and stocking the freezer with easy meals.

I can't wait to hear about your trip! I love that this post helped spark some helpful conversation and plan for your own re-entry! And yes to covering your kiddo with all the kisses- looking forward to that makes re-entry a little more fun to anticipate. Oh, and that tidy house, meal prep, and fresh sheets are incredible acts of love from your past self to your returning self- I love that!!

I feel this in my bones! I have a similar re entry day plan but haven’t really thought about kids needing time to readjust as well. Which like, duh, of course they do. Thanks for this reminder!

Woah! I’ve never thought of the feeling returning from a trip as whiplash but it makes so much sense. I think my son experienced that when we got home from Disneyland. I will be more intentional with the return to normal life after the next trip. Not only for me but for my family! Thanks for the helpful tips to get started!
